Well, I hope it is getting better. Things are in more accurate proportion. I miss the clarity of the color I had original...particularly the green. Perhaps wait a day or two and redo the green? No What happened to a painting a day? Move on.
Ah, now you have discovered one of the dilemmas: to redo or to do another. I think this is a personal thing, but the worst advise I have been given on improving my painting, was to do lots of starts. So I did that, and discovered that I can do starts until the cows the come home, they are easy for me, because, like you, I love to draw. But I wasn't learning anything, and just had a bunch of canvases that I didn't care about finishing. I subsequently discovered daily painting, and the process of doing one small painting and finishing it in a single session was just what I needed. It doesn't matter how it comes out, but what I learn from painting each one. Just a thought, does it resonate?
I am starting a daily painting project in hope to see radical change in my art. I have been painting since childhood. The art school years were a
time of immense growth for me. As a graphic designer, I have always had a hand in some sort of visual endeavor, however, painting has been a bit of a luxury. Given the state of the economy I can indulge myself...or rather I can indulge myself with no real opportunity cost!
I welcome your comments...they keep me honest. Thanks for taking a look.
